The agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Ram Ravi ("we", "us"), the developer of Vellum. By downloading or using Vellum you agree to them. Your use of the app is also governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA"). If these terms and the Standard EULA conflict, the Standard EULA applies to the extent required.
Your licence
We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use Vellum on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store's Usage Rules. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell or distribute the app, except where the law allows.
Vellum Premium, subscriptions and the free trial
- Vellum Premium is available as a monthly or yearly auto-renewing subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. Prices are shown in the app before you buy and may vary by country.
- Free trial. The yearly plan includes a 7-day free trial for eligible Apple IDs. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the yearly subscription starts automatically and your Apple ID is charged. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
- Billing. Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase, or when a free trial ends. Subscriptions renew automatically at the same price and length unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Cancelling. Manage or cancel at any time in your App Store account settings. Cancelling stops future renewals. You keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
- Lifetime. A lifetime purchase unlocks Vellum Premium for as long as Vellum is offered and supported on your device, with no recurring charge.
- Refunds. All purchases are processed by Apple, and refunds are handled by Apple under its policies at reportaproblem.apple.com. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
Your data and backups
Your entries, cards, receipts and settings are stored on your device. We don't hold a copy and can't recover them for you. You're responsible for keeping backups, for example with Vellum's Backup & Restore or your iPhone's own backups. Deleting the app or using Delete All Data permanently removes your Vellum data from that device.
Not financial advice
Vellum is a tool for recording and organising your own money. Its totals, charts, budgets, scanned amounts and exports are based on what you enter and may contain errors, for example from text recognition. Always check figures before relying on them. Nothing in Vellum is financial, tax, accounting or legal advice.
Acceptable use
Please use Vellum lawfully and only for your own records. Don't use it to store information you don't have the right to hold, or attempt to interfere with the app, its purchases or this website.
Intellectual property
Vellum, its design, the Vellum name and mark, and this website are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. The content you create in Vellum belongs to you.
Changes and availability
We work to keep Vellum reliable and to improve it, and we may add, change or remove features over time. We'll aim to give reasonable notice of significant changes that affect paid features.
Liability
Vellum is provided "as is" to the extent permitted by law. We're not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data you didn't back up. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for Vellum in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your rights as a consumer.
Apple
These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Vellum or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support, and is not responsible for any claims relating to the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Scotland. If you're a consumer, you may bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom where you live, and you keep the protection of any mandatory laws of your country of residence.
